Jo Hurst

Our guest today is one of my favourite reviewers and bloggers, Jo Hurst.  I’ll let her introduce herself and tell us all about her Hot Holiday! secrets!

I’m Jo from Cometbabesbooks, I am from a little town near Manchester, called Wigan. I love reading and holidays, I try to get away at least a couple of times a year. I started my blog in September 2013 and have made loads of lovely new friends since then. I am addicted to social media, crisps and wine.

Now That’s What I Call Service!

The saga of the iPad continues…..

Having learned to live with the blips and the buffering over the last two weeks, I was dismayed to see the charge lead for my iPad was wearing through.  Those of you familiar with said lead will know it has a sort of bendy bit where you plug it in.  Well, it might have seemed like a good idea at the time to Apple and I’m sure whoever designed it  like that had their reasons but, mine had bent itself to such a degree that it broke.  I, of course, panicked.

HOW WILL I … Read the rest »

Fingers and Newly Pedicured Toes Crossed

My iPad has been playing up, hence my silence on the blog.  It’s thrown out my hotmail and is taking slow to another level.  Two nights ago I fell asleep as it was buffering so long while I was waiting to comment on someone’s post on Facebook.  So, if you’ve e-mailed me or messaged me and I haven’t replied, my apologies, and this is the reason why.  It’s also messed up my Skype.  I’ve Skyped the Daughter several times and can see it’s ringing on the screen, yet she tells me it’s not ringing and her Skype has no record … Read the rest »

Angela Bradshaw

I’m delighted to introduce our guest today:  Angela Bradshaw!

As a teacher of the Alexander Technique, she’s been educating people on the merits of natural poise and balance, through her programme of Self Care Skills. Angela believes that the ultimate life skill is learning how to take care of ourselves as a whole: How we function, how we ‘use’ our bodies, how we think – all are required for health and well-being. Angela’s teachings demonstrate how to get the basics right … Read the rest »

Upgrade and Up Early

I’ve been in Antigua twenty-four hours now.  Today, like most days here, has passed in a second.  I arrived yesterday after a two-hour delay at Gatwick caused first of all by an electronic short in one of the seats and then a faulty loo door.  It was all very civilised, though, apart from the time spent in the Aspire Lounge.  Oh dear!  It was full to bursting – although fortunately about half those in there left within half an hour of my arrival – not that the two were necessary connected!  Everyone wants nice experiences and the airport lounge is … Read the rest »

A Hundred Years On

Tomorrow marks the centenary of the outbreak of WWI.  There have been loads of activities with a WWI theme and yesterday I went to see Paper Planes, Havering’s Community Play, at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch.  Paper Planes tells the story of William Leafe Robinson, a pilot who was based at Sutton’s Farm Air Base, who was a real hero.  He survived being shot down and taken prisoner, being kept in solitary confinement and torture only to come back to England and then succumb to Spanish Flu.  Some cast members were stronger than others and the writing was weak in places … Read the rest »
