It’s been a funny couple of days. And I do mean Funny. I was fortunate to go to the wonderful production of Singing in the Rain at the Palace Theatre on Monday evening. It’s everything a musicals’ fan like me could wish for: great music, fabulously talented, energetic cast and good storyline, with the added novelty of water being kicked out into the audience!! Although we had brilliant seats in the circle, the little girl in me wished we’d been in the first five rows of the stalls.
During the interval we went for a drink and my sister decided she wanted a souvenir so we wandered over to talk to an extremely pleasant young man who was manning the souvenir counter and my sister started scouring the list. She liked the thought of an umbrella but queried the size. So I turned to aforementioned young man and asked “Is that a large one or a small one you’re twirling?” Both he and my sister collapsed into giggles and when I finally cottoned on I started laughing, too.
“It’s a large one,” he spluttered. “But let me show you my small one,” he added disappearing into the back. “That’s hardly a chat up line, is it?” I commented. Cue, more childish, hysterical laughter, And all the way through the second act and on the train home we kept thinking about it and laughing again.
I need to get out more!
And yesterday was a lesson in laughing at myself. It’s still a bit hush hush – I’m not supposed to mention anything about it yet, so I can’t give any details. You will, Dear Reader, just have to carry on reading my blogs until I can reveal all….
I am waiting in anticipation 🙂
Im intrigued
Waiting in anticipation Elaine!
As I said: All will be revealed. Just not yet!!
