Well, the weather hasn’t got much better, has it? I spent last week and the weekend freezing, as most of you did, too, I suppose. And while I’m one of these strange people who actually doesn’t mind Winter, even I will be glad to see signs that Spring is here. When I say I don’t mind Winter, what I really like is to see the changes of the seasons and I find beauty in all four of them. But I’ve admired you enough now, Mr Winter – be off and make way for Ms Spring!!! Thank God I’m off to Antigua tomorrow for a week of warmth! Although I’ll be busy, busy, busy all the time I’m there doing maintenance and painting and stuff at Avocado Cottage..
Although it’s been cold life hasn’t come to a halt. I was honoured to be cast in a play by Kerry-Anne Whyte at the Anna Scher Theatre a couple of weeks ago and last Friday was the Festival and our play made it through. It was great to be at an AST Festival of Plays again and I really enjoyed myself acting but also watching the other plays and the standard was high. I’ve got a couple of ideas for plays for next term and so I’m going to try and turn them into plays – or at least one play – while I’m away.
I had a lovely afternoon with my beautiful Daughter yesterday. It’s a bit of a drive and we usually meet half way but I went to her and it was, of course, well-worth it. I just wish we spent more time together but I’m so proud of the kind, loving, talented, generous, intelligent, strong, capable woman she’s become and I miss her like mad.
Also good news about a friend of mine, F, who’s been having a really rotten time at work. She’s working alongside the worst possible combinanation of clueless team leader who’s had no training and bitch from hell (who’s able to wrap clueless team leader around her little finger). F was called in for a disciplinary meeting with HR department because the bitch from hell claimed she’d been “abusive and aggressive” towards her. It was claimed that this alleged abusive, aggressive behaviour took the form of F calling her “A silly little girl”. I kid you not! All of us who know F know that a phrase like that isn’t even in her vocabulary. Believe me, if she was going to be abusive she’d say something much worse than that. And it also turns out that the bitch from hell has previous: in 2009 she made an accusation of sexual harrasment against a work college and tried to take the Met (her employer at the time) for £1m. She obviously didn’t get anywhere as she’s now working for minimum wage, but she also, obviously, seems to make a habit of making allegations against work colleagues. Anyway, F decided she’d had enough, especially as team leader and bitch from hell can’t understand why she won’t sit and make polite conversation with them, and has handed her notice in. We’re all glad as she’s an educated woman and we’ve never quite understood why she was doing this boring mundane job. And now she’s had the courage to take the leap, a net has appeared and she’s going to be doing something she really loves. THERE’S A MORAL THERE FOR ALL OF US!
And, no, I haven’t forgotten. Here is the photo of me in my beautiful Katie Vale creation. www.KatieValeDesigns.com
Have a lovely Easter. My next post will be from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean!
