It’s Monday morning…. But I haven’t got that Monday Morning Feeling! No siree! I am walking on sunshine. I am floating on Cloud Nine.
Yesterday evening we had the world premiere reading of SINGLES’ HOLIDAY – THE PLAY! And what a reading it was!
To say I was nervous was an understatement. All I could keep thinking was ‘What if they don’t get it? What if nobody laughs?’
But they did get it and they did laugh!
First of all I have to say that I was lucky enough to have an amazing group of actors reading the roles. I am so very grateful, honoured and appreciative that they agreed to come along and take part.
Afnd as the reading began it was strange yet immensely satisfying to hear these characters that have lived in my head for seven years finally come to life. And amazingly, each character sounded just as I had heard their voices. Incredible!
The reading has now enabled me to see where the script needs a couple of tweaks and I’m encouraged and pleased more than I ever thought possible.
So a huge thank you to: Julie Carter, Veronique Choolhun, Kerryann White, Annie Burkin, Frances Jones, Oriana White, Margot Richardson, Theresa Cole, Luke White, Spencer Carter, Paul Spires, Myron McKay, Dave Foster, Samuel Awosoga, Kenny O’Connor, Robert Walters, Roderick Burrows and the wonderful Nick Campbell who is our producer.
My dreams are starting to come true. But you have to forge your own destiny and let the Universe know what you want.
Thank you all once again.
