My Feet Haven’t Touched the Ground

How can it already be Tuesday?  And 3rd December at that?  It seems as if it was last Christmas just two or three months ago, but certainly I can’t believe I’ve already been home four days.

the flight on Thursday night through Friday morning was a real rollercoaster.  We rocked and rolled and dinner service had to be suspended twice as it was too turbulent for the crew to move about the cabin.  As always, bittersweet leaving Antigua, especially as I’m not sure at the moment when I’ll be back…….

I really hit the ground running, though. As soon as I got home I went to bed for three hours.  I always do that; three hours is enough to ‘kill’ the tiredness.  Then a quick trip to the supermarket before meeting up with Amy Macaluso for a meeting about the Rock Choir’s Concert for Annette, that I was MCing on Saturday night.  Amy and her sisters lost their mum, Annette, to leukaemia earlier this year.  Annette had been a member of the Rock Choir and absolutely loved it so the Macaluso Family organised a tribute concert for their mum as a fund-raiser for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and St Francis Hospice. The concert took place in the magnificent St Marylebone Parish Church, which was wonderfully atmospheric.  We rehearsed Saturday afternoon and the concert was Saturday night.

Then I was supposed to have gone to Columbia Rd Market on Sunday morning with my friends P and P, but P was poorly so we’ve rescheduled.  As sympathetic as I was that he was poorly, I was grateful I didn’t have to get up early, sleeping in until 11:30am!  The afternoon brought a production meeting with Nick for Singles’ Holiday followed by a rehearsal in Islington for Leon Herbert’s play about the Fall of Lucifer which goes on tomorrow at St Peter’s Church in Islington.  Then on my way back to Essex I dropped copies of the revised script of Singles’ Holiday to two cast members.

Yesterday was doc’s appointment and then lunch with the beautiful Daughter before dropping off two more scripts and then coming home to put my feet up.

Today I will get on with Singles in India.  The end is nigh!
