The Daughter is in Las Vegas and from the WhatsApp messages pinging me awake in the early hours, she’s having the time of her life on her SECOND Holiday Of A Lifetime this year! I’m just so thrilled to see her enjoying life so much. Like any mother, all I want is for her to be happy. And she’s certainly happy this week! She’s been to see Celine Dion and says it’s the best live show she’s ever seen; skydived over the Gran Canyon, zip-lined the length of Freemont Street, had a little win in the Golden Nugget, shopped, and had cocktails in all the best bars on the Strip. And she’s still got got 3 more days! Wonderful!
Meanwhile, back in rainy Hornchurch, my fingers have been flying over the keys, getting on with The Banjo. It’s actually going to be a much longer book than I’d planned, but that’s fine. As long as the stories – because it’s more than one person’s story – entertain and surprise then I’ll be happy.
I had an amazing 5* review for Single All the Way from Anne Williams on her fabulous blog Being Anne. Anne is a self-confessed singles’ holiday veteran and so this ringing endorsement for my work is humbling. You can read it here, if you’re interested – www.beingannereading.blogspot.co.uk
I am also really pleased to announce I’ve got a couple of crackers lined up in my next Hot Holidays! spots. I can’t wait to share the first one with you next week!
Christmas is well and truly on its way now as I’ve just seen the John Lewis Christmas Ad. It’s lovely – but I prefer the Sky HD movies advert – about a girl who won’t eat her sprouts!
So, sorry to be a bit short and sweet, but I really must get on with The Banjo. I know you should never compare yourself to anyone else, but I seem to be surrounded by people who have already knocked out two or three books this year. Where do they find the time?
