I know it’s been a while! Sorry! I have actually been writing. I’ve got on amazingly with THE BANJO. It isn’t finished but it’s coming along nicely. And so many other things have been happening, too. I wake up and ten minutes later The One Show is on.
Last Sunday I went to Birmingham to a Writers and Bloggers Meet Up, organised by the wonderful Kim Nash. It was great to meet so many people that I only ‘know’ from this blog, Twitter or Facebook. I was especially thrilled to meet Barbara Copperthwaite as I’m reading her second book, Flowers for the Dead, at the moment. It is so well-written, it’s freaking me out!! I won’t say any more than that as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but it was amazing being able to discuss the book’s villain with Barbara and to find out how she got the idea for the novel. It’s a brilliant read that is scaring the hell out of me. If you haven’t read it I thoroughly recommend that you do. And – drumroll – I can reveal that she is going to be my Hot Holidays! guest very soon!! Yippee!! Also there was Caroline James and it was great to finally get to sit and chat to her. I love her books and we share a love of the Caribbean so we had lots to talk about. And when the get-together finished I had a lovely couple of hours with my dear friend L in Turtle Bay, which was rocking.
Yesterday I went up to Foyle’s on a Christmas present quest. If I am ever missing, look for me there. I just love walking around; the smell of the place is divine. The staff are so helpful, too. I could have spent all day there, but I couldn’t. However, I did manage to get the pressies so I was a very happy woman.
And I have a Christmas present for you, too. If you haven’t read Single All The Way, it is free from now until Sunday 6th as a Kindle download.
If you have read it, you might like to tell all your friends and relatives!
And a rather odd note to leave you on……….. I’ve got a new follower on Twitter: Solos Holidays.
